From Ruth's Desk
After the longest, coldest winter in memory, it's been such a joy having this glorious summer in Michigan.

As some of you know, I love gardening. I love everything about it. The smell of damp earth. Digging in the dirt and watching tiny seedlings grow. I even enjoy pulling weeds and scattering a layer of mulch over my pretty gardens. This summer, as if to atone for winter overstaying its welcome, we've had nearly perfect weather, sprinkled with enough rain to make my gardens lush and colorful.

I thought you might enjoy just a sample of them.

Don't worry. I didn't spend all my time gardening. I managed to complete another 3-book series, as well. Please see my What's New Page to read about my Copper Creek series, which begins with Book 1 in September.

I also just returned from the annual conference of Romance Writers of America, held this year in San Antonio. Gorgeous city. Hot hot weather. Great hotel, located on the famous Riverwalk. And had a fabulous time with my friends.

Below, I'm with my suitemate, Nora Roberts, enjoying one of the many outdoor cafes situated along the Riverwalk. We always have a grand time sharing a hotel suite, clothes, makeup and, of course, industry gossip. And we always return home refreshed and ready to get back to work.

Enjoy what's left of summer while you can. Happy reading!
